Engagement Sittings

First, it’s a great way to really get to know each other. Everyone has the final in-person consultation at least once before the contract is signed but there’s so much going on. You’re looking at packages, albums, timelines and picking your photographer for the big day. But in all that preparation are you really getting to know the person who’s going to be interacting with you, your family and friends on YOUR wedding day? Probably not. Sure, you’ll have an idea of who they are and how they’ll interact but you still haven’t spent any real time with them…

That’s why we include engagement sittings in our packages! They last about 1.5 to 2 hours and you can pick a location anywhere within the Chicagoland area or we can suggest some great areas too. Most importantly, during the engagement session not only will we be photographing but we’ll be going over poses and finding the ones you really like and show off the best of you as both individuals and as a couple. Also, from a photographer’s point of view we get to see how you react in front of a camera: some people are shy or awkward, some just need some guidance while others blossom when the lens is on them. From a couple’s point of view you get to see how we joke, talk and how easy our direction are to understand. It gives us time to work those things out.

 

There’s conversation and we get to learn more about each other. We’ll talk about about the wedding day and incorporate, in real time, the type of images you’re looking for to capture your special day. Your family and friends will trust us because they’ve seen the fantastic images that were created during the engagement sitting. It makes the day so much easier. This way, you feel completely comfortable and prepared for your wedding day and the our process working with you to make it as memorable as we can!
